Who We Are

Andrew Hughes

Attorney, Founder

By previously representing railroads, Andrew Hughes gained a thorough understanding of the Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA), the law that applies to railroad workers. Andrew also represented asbestos manufacturers, where he learned how to defend toxic tort cases.

That background makes him uniquely qualified to prosecute your railroad cancer claim. Andrew has litigated and tried cases against the country’s top toxic tort and FELA attorneys. He frequently prosecutes cases against railroads that are represented by three separate law firms, all working full bore. To that end, Andrew often partners with co-counsel who have particular skills and experience. Railroad cancer lawsuits are labor-intensive and expensive to prosecute. There is plenty of work to go around. On certain matters, it only makes sense for you to have more than one firm prosecuting your case.

In addition to your legal team, it is vital that your lawyers hire the right experts to connect your workplace exposures to your illness. The experts often make the difference between a case being dismissed – or proceeding to trial. Andrew will work with proven experts in occupational medicine, oncology, toxicology and industrial hygiene to support your railroad cancer claim.

Hughes Law Offices was not founded as a general practice law firm. We don’t handle car accidents, wills and dog bites. We solely handle complex, toxic tort cases against railroads and petro-chemical corporations. If you believe that your cancer or leukemia was caused by exposures to toxins like benzene, diesel exhaust, asbestos, solvents, creosote or second-hand smoke, contact Hughes Law Offices today.
